November Commercial Coffee Richmond Recap
November 23, 2011 | by: Tamsin Hepner, PE
The November Commercial Coffee Richmond was held at The Marquee, a beautifully restored 1939 Art Deco building situated in the historic museum district. Stephanie Caperton and Tom Rosman of One South Commercial sponsored the event and would be happy to give anyone any additional information about The Marquee. Chick Jordan, the owner of The Marquee gave us a brief history of the building and of the work he has put into restoring and decorating the building’s interior and exterior. Mr. Jordan has been renting out the building’s interior ballroom spaces and providing catering services for special events. A big thank you goes out to him for providing the coffee and pastries for the Commercial Coffee event.
We also had the chance to meet Mark Olinger, The City of Richmond’s new, Director of Planning and Development Review. Mr. Olinger gave us a little bit of background information about himself and his career to date. He also discussed his hopes of reviewing and updating some of the development and plan review processes and procedures. He seemed excited to be here in Richmond and enjoyed meeting the Commercial Coffee attendees. A big thank you also goes out to Mr. Olinger for taking the time to join us.
