August Commercial Coffee Richmond Recap
August 24, 2011 | by: Tamsin Hepner, PE
The Timmons Group Richmond Commercial Coffee event was attended by approximately 70 people this month and judging from the comments received in the days following the event, having a guest speaker was new twist that seemed to be well liked. We could do this again in the future if there is anyone in particular the group would like to hear from…any suggestions?!
A big thank you, to Lee Downey from the City of Richmond Department of Economic and Community Development for taking the time to talk to us about the role and organization of the Department and their goals for the City. It was great to know that there is funding out there for new businesses in the City and even some funding to help with real estate development… that’s what we like to hear! Timmons Group looks forward to working with you in the future and wishes you luck with your new position at the City!
Another tremendous thank you, to Ron Hunt and Genesis Properties for welcoming us to their corporate headquarters and for the delicious coffee and pastries. The office was beautifully re-done with the exposed beams and refinished original warehouse floors. The tour of the CRT/Tanaka offices downstairs was quite unusual, seeing the old street car and restaurant scene turned into the marketing world place of brainstorms and branding.
Stay tuned for what’s coming up next month, it’s hip to be sure…..the revitalized Hippodrome in Jackson Ward or a trendy boutique apartment building on Broad Street with a coffee shop to boot!
