FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Timmons Group’s Donnie Gladfelter Featured in the March/April Issue of AUGIWorld

Richmond, VA – March 28, 2007 – Donnie Gladfelter, Design Systems Specialist at Timmons Group, has an article featured in the March/April issue of AUGIWorld, the official publication of Autodesk User Group International (AUGI).

Gladfelter’s article titled “Linear Quantities Made Quick” addresses a method for reducing the time required to perform linear calculations in AutoCAD Map 3D.  According to Gladfelter, “Much of the cost associated with developing any site is in some way linked back to a linear quantity. Knowing the total length of design elements such as water and sewer pipes is imperative to insuring a project is properly budgeted from its start, and more importantly stays on budget throughout its duration. While there is no question in the value of knowing certain linear quantities; physically calculating the length can be both tedious and time consuming using traditional methods. Using a lesser known command in AutoCAD Map 3D the time required to perform such calculations can literally be reduced from hours to minutes." The article takes an in-depth look at using this more efficient method.

Backed by more than a decade of CAD experience, Gladfelter is jointly responsible for the development and delivery of training, support and CAD standards at Timmons Group. He can be reached at donnie.gladfelter@timmons.com, or through his CAD Blog online at www.TheCADGeek.com.
