Timmons Group Hires David Saunders as Senior Project Manager in its Water & Wastewater Group

Richmond, VA – October 30, 2009 –Timmons Group, an ENR 500 Design Firm and a leader in multi-disciplined civil engineering and professional consulting services, announced today that David Saunders, PE, has joined the firm as Senior Project Manager in its Water and Wastewater group.

Dave has 28 years of experience in the planning and design of new and upgrading of existing water and wastewater treatment plants, pipe lines, pumping stations and storage tanks. Dave’s responsibilities will be to lead and train other engineers in the group; interface with equipment vendors and our diverse base of clients and perform and lead all types of water and wastewater projects.

Dave’s wide-ranging experience will strengthen an already talented water/wastewater team. He has been involved as project engineer, project manager or principal in charge of a variety of projects ranging from traditional water and wastewater projects involving piping; pump stations; storage; treatment; studies and site planning as well as preparation of responses to Request for Proposals for complex Department of Defense and Virginia Public Private Education Act utility projects.

Prior to joining Timmons Group, Dave was the office manager of Patton Harris Rust & Associates’ Fredericksburg, Virginia office. Since 2003, he was responsible for the daily management of the office staff and projects; financial performance; billing and collections; business development and oversight of the operations of the firm’s Water Quality Laboratory. Dave was also a former corporate secretary and member of that firm’s Board of Directors. Dave is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the American Water Works Association and the Virginia Rural Water Association. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute.
