Richmond, VA – August 30, 2006 - Approximately 50 project engineers, architects, developers and real estate professionals, gathered last Thursday at Timmons Group’s Boulders headquarters for a networking event sponsored by the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a nonprofit research and education organization created to facilitate the open exchange of ideas, information and experience among local and national industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to promoting responsible land use in development.

During the event, which enabled attendees
from ULI’s Young Leaders Group to network and interact with other area professionals,
was a presentation by Timmons Group’s
Junie West, Commercial Services Managing
Principal and Roger Rodriguez, Project Manager, that focused on the company’s work on Unicorp National Development Inc.’s
project, “West Broad Village,” a mixed-use development scheduled to be built in Short Pump.
“We were extremely honored to host our ULI colleagues who share our passion for responsible and innovative development. West Broad Village-type projects enhance the communities in which we live and are intensely sought after by localities grappling with the effects of urban and suburban sprawl,” said West. “These types of pedestrian-friendly design projects have been lauded by environmentalists as the most efficient use of our land will surely add a distinctive element to the diversifying face of Richmond retailers.”
Scheduled for completion of its first stages by 2007, the project will incorporate more than 400,000 square feet of retail space including a bookstore, grocery store, health club facility, and restaurants; 300,000 square feet of office space; a hotel and approximately 1,200 multi-family residential units.
