Timmons Group Solution to be Profiled at the 2007 ESRI User Conference Plenary

Richmond, VA – June 13, 2007 –The Integrated Forest Resource Information System (IFRIS®) solution, developed by Timmons Group for the Virginia Department of Forestry (VDOF), has been selected by ESRI to be featured in the plenary session of the 2007 User Conference in San Diego. IFRIS was chosen as one of only two applications in the world to be presented during the plenary session.

The live demonstration of IFRIS will show how VDOF employees record time and accomplishments spatially, resulting in substantial return on investment (ROI) since the application went live in April 2006. The presentation will demonstrate how IFRIS utilizes web-based geodatabase editing, analysis and reporting using ArcGIS Server. IFRIS Mobile® will also be introduced to demonstrate true enterprise integration featuring ArcGIS Mobile technology. The plenary will give more than 13,000 potential attendees a glimpse into real-life workflows that highlight the substantial functionality included in the IFRIS solution.

The IFRIS web-based solution was deployed to production in April 2006 and is used daily by more than 350 VDOF employees. Phase II of the project involves a mobile enterprise component built on ArcGIS Mobile, Windows Mobile 5 and SQL Server Compact technologies. The pilot phase designed to support mobile timesheets, forest health observation reporting, mobile mapping and GPS feature collection has been completed. The development of modules to facilitate water quality law enforcement and observation, wildfire reporting, woodland home community assessments and other VDOF-specific field functionality is currently being designed and developed.
