Timmons Group Selected by Wisconsin DNR to Perform GIS Needs Assessment

Richmond, VA – June 7, 2007 –Timmons Group, a leader in geospatial and engineering consulting services, was recently selected by the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Forestry to perform GIS needs assessment tasks related to their Forestry Information Management System requirements.

Timmons Group was selected through a competitive bidding process to assist the agency in performing due-diligence related to the integration of land management Geospatial technologies, including ESRI’s ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Mobile, into the DNR’s existing Forest Information Management System (WisFIRS). WisFIRS, currently in Release 1, manages many business processes for the agency in tabular format. Throughout the project, the team will focus on understanding how to best leverage geospatial technologies and define the core requirements for WisFIRS Release 2 and beyond.
