Timmons Group Wins GRTC 2007 Strategic Staffing Solutions' Technology Skillbuilder Award

Richmond, VA – May 15, 2007 –Timmons Group was recognized by the Greater Richmond Technology Council (GRTC) with the 2007 Strategic Staffing Solutions' Technology Skillbuilder Award at the GRTC Annual Technology Awards Gala on Wednesday, May 9.

Timmons Group was recognized for the development of a computer-aided design (CAD) training and certification program that provides incentives for employees to seek higher skill levels in the use of the essential engineering technology.  The primary goal for this program is to fulfill the Timmons Group mission of providing “unrivaled customer service.” 

The Certification Program provides incentive on multiple levels for Timmons Group employees to seek higher skill levels in the use of CAD.  Because of this incentive, they attend classes, study on their own and build skills that enable them to improve their overall productivity, both within their CAD-related work and the firm as a whole.  Additionally, the Certification Program also provides a framework for career development within the company.  Employees work with their supervisors to create a path of professional development which includes various certifications as milestones on that path.  Because non-CAD skills are also required to advance along that path, the Certification Program naturally prompts the development of leadership, teamwork and professionalism as well.
