GSA is a centralized federal procurement and property management agency created by Congress to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve the public. It acquires, on behalf of federal agencies, office space, equipment, telecommunications, information technology, supplies and services. GSA Schedule contracts are awarded by the General Services Administration's Federal Acquisition Center. This Center certifies that the prices on the company’s schedule contract are fair and reasonable for sale to any government agency. The GSA Schedule program provides a streamlined, cost effective procurement method for all federal agencies. Agencies can purchase directly from GSA Schedule holders using simplified acquisition procedures. In 1993, Timmons Group founded its Environmental Services Group. The Environmental staff has specialized expertise in: Wetland Assessments and Delineations; Wetland Mitigation Design; Construction Monitoring; Local, State, and Federal Permitting; Stream Assessments and Restoration Design; Chesapeake Bay Act Compliance Services; Soil Suitability Studies; Cultural Resource and Threatened and Endangered Species Survey Coordination. The Environmental Services group at Timmons Group is comprised of engineers, environmental scientists, geologists and soil scientists that can effectively manage a broad range of environmental projects and programs. The team reflects a progression in the project planning and engineering framework. While natural resource and environmental issues were once treated independently, they must now be addressed as an integral part of the development process. The team assesses the potential impacts of any given project and identifies a solution to best meet that project’s environmental and functional needs.
