Timmons Group has Two New Members

Richmond, VA – Timmons Group is excited to welcome two new members to the Utilities Group, both whom will aid in providing our clients with superior service.

photoJim Christian, PE has joined Timmons Group in the new corporate headquarters in Richmond as a Senior Associate. Jim brings over 30 years of design and management experience in water and wastewater treatment, collection, and transmission. As a licensed Civil and Mechanical Engineer, Jim’s technical experience includes: designing the 2004 Treatment Plant of the Year; advising the USEPA on CFR40 Part 503 (biosolids) issues; training all levels of technical and engineering staff in the latest water and wastewater design techniques; design, construction and start-up of one of the countries largest treatment plants (450 MGD); to presenting several technical and managerial seminars and papers to local, state and national organizations. Having managed one of ENR’s top A/E firms, his main management assignment is to help facilitate the growth of Timmons Group as they expand their areas of practice and expertise by adding his business expertise to the executive management team of Timmons Group.

photoPeter Brooks, PE has also joined Timmons Group’s Utilities Group as a Project Manager. Prior to joining Timmons Group, Mr. Brooks was the principal of P.M. Brooks Associates (“PMBA”) where he worked on water and wastewater projects throughout the state of Virginia and Kentucky. He is a registered Professional Engineer within Virginia and Kentucky and he holds a certification with the Virginia Department of Health as an Authorized Onsite Soils Evaluator (AOSE).

Mr. Brooks worked for the Virginia Department of Health in both the office of Water Programs and the Office of Community Health Services in Richmond, Virginia. His duties included providing engineering assistance to local Health departments and investigating any complaints or appeals regarding septic tank permits or sanitarian actions. While serving in this position, Mr. Brooks received special training in soil interpretation, geomorphology (relationship of soils to land forms) and design of land using wastewater treatment systems. He acted in this position for three years.
