Timmons Group Expands to the Triangle Region of North Carolina; Names Andrew Moriarty, P.E. Director of Engineering

Richmond, VA – April 10, 2007 –Timmons Group, an ENR 500 Design Firm and a leader in civil engineering consulting services, announced today that the firm is expanding to the Triangle region of North Carolina and plans to open a local office shortly.   

“With its continuous growth and development, the Raleigh/Durham area provides an ideal location to expand our presence in North Carolina and meet our goals for strategic growth,” said Brian F. Bortell, PE, Timmons Group president and chief operating officer. “Our presence in the Triangle also allows us to better serve our Virginia clients who have ongoing projects in the area.”

Leading the Timmons Group expansion, Andrew Moriarty, PE, of Cary, North Carolina, has joined the firm as Director of Engineering for the Triangle office. Mr. Moriarty will oversee business development, engineering and recruiting efforts to assist the firm in establishing its newest engineering office. “Andrew combines a broad technical background with a proven commitment to client satisfaction and service. He understands the overarching goals of his clients and ensures timely solutions to achieve these goals,” said Bortell. “Under Andrew’s direction, I am confident that we will provide our Triangle clients with the same unrivalled customer service that our Virginia clients have come to expect.”

Mr. Moriarty brings more than 15 years of experience providing consulting engineering services in land development ranging from large mixed-use and master-planned developments to small- site, corporate development programs including restaurants, retail stores and banking institutions. His client list includes local and regional commercial and residential land developers such as Lauth Property Group, Regency Centers, Crosland, East West Partners, Midland Atlantic Properties, Faison, Gateway Homes, Childress Klein, Lowe’s Home Centers, McDonald’s, Target, Walgreen’s and Wal-Mart. At Timmons Group, Moriarty will oversee the Triangle office operations and continue to focus on land development projects in the Triangle area. 

Moriarty was most recently Group Manager for the Charlotte office of the John R. McAdams Company, where he was responsible for managing all civil engineering projects and operations as well as building client relations for their Charlotte office.
Moriarty previously served in a similar capacity in the firm’s Durham office. Prior to joining the John R. McAdams Company, Moriarty was an Associate and Team Leader with Bohler Engineering, Inc. in their Pennsylvania office.
