March 18, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Timmons Group Congratulates its Newest LEED® Accredited Professional Richmond, VA – March 18, 2008 –Timmons Group, an ENR 500 Design Firm and a leader in civil engineering consulting services, is pleased to announce that Charlene Harper, PE, has passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation exam and is now a LEED Accredited Professional. LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. Developed by United States Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED addresses all building types and emphasizes state-of-the-art strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials and resources selection, and indoor environmental quality. LEED is a practical rating tool for green building design and construction that provides immediate and measurable results for building owners and occupants. LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System. Ms. Harper, a project manager with Timmons Group’s Education Group, has worked on several recent projects that have received LEED certification including Butner Federal Correctional Institute in Butner, North Carolina and Third Creek Elementary School in Iredell County, North Carolina.
