Timmons Group Assists Fortune 200 Company Architect GIS Enterprise Platform

Richmond, VA – February 9, 2007 – Timmons Group, a leader in geospatial and engineering consulting services, today announced that the company’s Technology sector has completed the initial design of an Enterprise Geospatial Platform for a, Fortune 200, Eastern US integrated utility.

The Enterprise Platform is envisioned as the supporting geospatial computing and decision support framework for the company. It will provide an Enterprise Architecture and Common Operating Platform for the management of multiple terabytes of geospatial information. The platform is designed to support a number of geospatial offerings including robust web-based applications and stand-alone geospatial decision support web services developed in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) model. The platform is designed to be highly scalable and available to support additional geospatial data, applications and services.

The Enterprise Platform is designed to include multiple, redundant ESRI ArcIMS®, ArcGIS Server® and ArcSDE® Servers.
