January 29, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Timmons Group Names Chris Gerecke as Newest Associate
As a Geospatial Solutions Manager, Chris performs a multitude of tasks required for the successful design, development, implementation and support of high-quality geospatial and technology solutions. Gerecke was instrumental in the development of Virginia’s Integrated Forest Resource Information System (IFRIS), which won a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) award in 2006 and was selected by the Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc (ESRI) to be featured as one of only two applications in the world presented during the plenary session of the 2007 User Conference in San Diego. “Chris has been an outstanding asset to Timmons Group since he joined the firm,” said Brian Bortell, PE, the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “He has continually demonstrated exceptionally strong technical skills, is widely acknowledged by the GIS industry to be on the cutting edge of applications development and is able to combine this know-how with the ability to understand the client’s vision and make it a reality. This, in essence, captures his relentless pursuit of our mission, ‘to provide unrivaled customer serviced and shared success.’ A graduate of Wake Forest University with a Masters of Science in Environmental Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, Gerecke has been with Timmons Group for seven years. He is currently working on architecting an enterprise web-based geospatial lands management application aimed at assisting states, private companies and the federal government with their land management needs.
