Richmond, VA – February 8, 2005 – Timmons Group is pleased to congratulate Managing Principal Derrick Johnson, PE, as the 2005 recipient of the Voice of Business Award by the Hopewell-Prince George Chamber of Commerce. Johnson accepted the award at the Chamber’s 87th Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony, held recently at the historic Beacon Theatre in downtown Hopewell, Virginia. An estimated 300 local business and government leaders attended the gala event.

Johnson, who heads Timmons Group’s regional office in Prince George, earned the Chamber award for his leadership in presenting design plans that assist new businesses and developments before local governments in the Tri-Cities area. Tri-Cities comprises the cities of Hopewell, Petersburg and Colonial Heights, and is surrounded by the counties of Prince George, Dinwiddie and Chesterfield.

A 1987 civil engineering graduate of Virginia Military Institute and tri-captain of its football team, Johnson has nearly 20 years of engineering design experience. He manages all aspects of site design for private clients, including industrial developments, restaurants, hotels, convenience stores, churches, office centers and residential subdivisions.
