Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field(s).

Experience Requirements: Five to 10 Years

Functional Responsibilities: Functions as Geospatial Technologies lead, and is responsible for a wide variety of production tasks and some task supervision for ongoing Geospatial projects. Assists Project Managers, Group Leader and Sector Leader in meeting project deliverable requirements and deadlines. Understands and interprets client business applications and is responsible for developing applications and products to fulfill customer requirements.

  1. Design, develop, implement, document and maintain GIS server product production systems.
  2. Design, develop, implement, document and maintain functional requirements, specs and project plans.
  3. Analyze functional requirements and recommend adoption of new technologies, products and services.
  4. Design, develop, implement, document and maintain QC and QA software and procedures.
  5. Analyze input and output data, translation specifications and product specifications.
  6. Seasoned leader in system design and development.
  7. Mentor Programmers, Analysts and Project Managers on emerging technologies.

Job Title: Senior Consultant

Education Requirements: Bachelors or Masters Degree with coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field(s).

Experience Requirements: Requires 8 years experience managing most phases and aspects of geographic information systems.

Functional Responsibility: Personnel in this labor category serve as Senior Project Managers providing strategic consulting and project management for GIS projects. These personnel apply extensive knowledge and GIS expertise in support of application development projects or GIS enterprise implementation. Consulting services may include strategic planning and analysis, requirements definition, logical and physical project designs, database design and development, and system integration consulting. Management services may include oversight of project timelines and deliverables, establishment of budgets and schedules, allocation of staff and resources, oversight of subcontractor activities.

Job Title: Programmer/Analyst

Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited two or four-year college or university with coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Engineering or other related field(s).

Experience Requirements: Two to Four Years

Functional Responsibilities: The Programmer/Analyst under limited supervision, assists in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of systems, software, GIS, GPS and data integration solutions to administrative, scientific, and technical problems through the use of computer technology. Responsible for a wide variety of production tasks and some task supervision for ongoing Geospatial projects.  Understands and interprets client business applications, and is responsible for developing applications and products to fulfill customer requirements.

  1. Utilize Visual Basic and .NET technologies and implement robust solutions in support of projects.
  2. Leverage ArcObjects to build robust Geospatial applications
  3. Develop ergonomic user-interfaces that support the capture of data and perform application-level data validation.
  4. Leverage back-end technologies (RDBMS) to model complex data relationships and perform low-level data integrity.
  5. Provide installation, end-user and internal documentation on all applications developed.
  6. Provide assistance to Project Managers and other staff on the development work- and data-flows.
  7. Develop and maintain client ESRI ArcIMS online sites including ASP, ASP.NET, Java, JavaScript, Cold Fusion, HTML, CSS and SQL programming.
  8. Create graphics in support of client GIS and Project Management websites.
  9. Create aesthetically-pleasing GIS Internet sites with custom symbology, scale-dependent rendering and tool sets.
  10. Performance tuning of the ArcIMS server, including upgrading various server software packages in a timely manner.
  11. Assist with monitoring and tuning the performance of the ESRI IMS/ArcSDE applications.
  12. Assist in the management of client data in SQL server SDE environment.
  13. Assist in the creation of new IMS and Web directories on IIS web servers.

Job Title: GIS Analyst

Educations and/or Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geography or other related field(s), or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience Requirements: Two to Five Years

Functional Responsibilities: The GIS Analyst is responsible for completing assigned tasks under the supervision of the Group Leader or Project Manager.  The GIS Analyst, under limited supervision, assists in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, software, GIS, RS, GPS, and data integration solutions to administrative, scientific and technical problems through the use of computer technology. Understands and interprets client business applications, and is responsible for developing applications and products to fulfill customer requirements.

  1. Develops and maintains links between various databases.
  2. Develops simple applications and scripts, and uses existing scripts in AML, Avenue and VB.
  3. Creates new computer programs or edits existing programs in order to produce maps and automate procedures.
  4. Assists in establishing best practices to be followed by Data Conversion staff.
  5. Maintains databases for GIS-related FGDC-compliant metadata.
  6. Writes documentation as necessary.
  7. Participates as needed, in meetings with Technology Services and client staff to fully understand expected project outcomes.
  8. Works cooperatively with Project Managers to complete assigned work.
  9. Proactively seeks input and clarification from other employees assigned to given projects in order to minimize time spent in performing the essential duties of the position.

Job Title: GIS Specialist

Education Requirements: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Geography, Information Systems or related degree.

Experience Requirements: Two Years

Functional Responsibilities: The GIS Specialist is responsible for completing assigned tasks under the supervision of the Group Leader or Project Manager.  The GIS Specialist, under general supervision, assists in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, software, GIS, RS, GPS, and data integration solutions to administrative, scientific, and technical problems through the use of computer technology. The GIS Specialist is considered to possess mid-level GIS and analytical skills that are beyond those of the Technician level.

  1. Develops Geographic Databases through use of GIS/GPS and advanced technologies for specialized purposes such as E-911 addressing and Utility Mapping.
  2. Use various GIS software (primarily ESRI ArcGIS, Arc/Info Workstation, and ArcView), as well as various geographic data formats and standard data conversion and transformation methods, for geographic analysis.
  3. Create maps (using large-format plotters), reports, and presentations in support of various GIS and technology projects.
  4. Participates as needed, in meetings with Technology Services and client staff to fully understand expected project outcomes.
  5. Works cooperatively with other GIS Analysts, Technicians and/or Project Managers to complete assigned work.

Education Requirements: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Geography, Information Systems or related degree or equivalent

Experience Requirements: Two to Four Years

Functional Responsibilities: This GIS Technician is expected to apply the concepts of GIS and Data conversion learned through education and/or experience to solve tasks as assigned, Including but not limited to the following:

  1. Uses GIS program packages (Arc/Info, ArcView, MS Access) to input, edit, prepare and produce various maps, related geographic database information and other GIS tools and products.
  2. Assists in developing geographic database structures, tables, forms and reports.

Job Title: Program Manager

Education Requirements: Bachelors or Masters Degree with coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field(s).

Experience Requirements: 10 years, with expertise including a thorough understanding of the market and business development aspects of the Sector.  Has experience in marketing and supervision of the technical work of others.  Has background as a Project Manager for major clients.

Functional Responsibilities: The purpose of the Program Manager is to develop business with and successfully execute work for clients within the market sector, plus other designated clients with significant related needs.  The Program Manager is responsible for overall P&L and long-term growth of the sector to meet the company’s long-term growth plan. The Program Manager is responsible for; Identifying opportunities in the market place including commissioning or conducting market research as necessary; determining which portion of the market to focus on and specific clients/prospects to target; marketing and sales, revenues, work product quality, design standards, profitability, staff coordination and personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Establishes a vision for how the firm will capitalize on the opportunities within the marketplace.
  • Facilitates the assignments of Project Managers and Senior Consultants to each client and prospect.
  • Develops an action plan for each targeted client and prospect.  Works with the Marketing Director and Executive Management in the development of the action plans.
  • Monitors client satisfaction.

  • Supervises, mentors and trains sector staff.

Functional Responsibilities: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects and for the penetration of assigned client accounts. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for marketing and client development, technical quality, profitability, schedule, project staff coordination, client communications, negotiating scopes and fees, billing and collection of fees, and client follow-up and maintenance. The Senior Project Manager may manage several mid-sized projects or a single larger project simultaneously. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Project Management

  • Prepares the scope of services, detailed project budget, schedule and contract for review and approval
  • Works with the Senior Management to determine the composition of project teams. Assigns duties, schedules and budget to project team members (including any subcontractors). Coordinates project scheduling.
  • Conducts “kick-off” and interim project status meetings with the project team to discuss tasks, schedules, budgets, etc.
  • Is responsible for completing each project on time and on budget. Regularly monitors project schedules and budgets throughout the project life. Responsible for leading formal Project Reviews for his/her projects.
  • Provides technical expertise and checks accuracy of all completed work. Assures that a QA/QC review is completed at the appropriate stages of each project.
  • Represents client’s interests with contractors and is responsible for negotiations with contractors.
  • Monitors project’s adherence to company standards including quality control and assurance standards.
  • Documents the performance of project team members through completion of Project.
  • Communicates significant performance issues to senior management so that appropriate action may be taken.

Communication

  • Responsible for coordinating the timely invoicing of fees.
  • Maintains contact with the client after the project is completed and cross markets such other services as appropriate.
