Public Safety
Timmons Group, headquartered in Richmond, VA is dedicated to assisting local, state and federal government entities in meeting their conceptual planning and site development needs. Our public safety team is devoted entirely to serving the needs of the owner or end user. Our extensive experience in the design of public safety facilities allows us to fully understand your needs and vision for the project.

The resulting site designs meet the needs of the client and the community while maintaining project budgets.

Federal Correctional Institute
Prince George County, VA
Timmons Group was responsible for the project management and design of the Federal Bureau of Prisons contracted with Hensel & Phelps Construction Company (contractor) and Moseley Architects (architect) for a “design-build” operation. The new FCI will house approximately 250 to 300 full-time employees at a site located in Prince George County near the city of Petersburg, Virginia. Development of the facility involved the utilization of approximately 150 acres of land presently owned by the Bureau, located adjacent and to the north of the existing Petersburg FCI.  We closely coordinated with the architect, other designers, contractors and subcontractors to create an advanced civil package which provided the ability to begin clearing and earthwork operations.
