Timmons Group, headquartered in Richmond, VA is dedicated to assisting

Our public safety focus enables us to master plan and design sites
that effectively integrate the required program and operational considerations
within a selected site. Timmons Group is also committed to environmentally
sensitive and responsible site design, while never losing sight on
the project budget and time constraints. The resulting site designs
meet the needs of the client and the community while maintaining project
budgets.
The majority of work completed by our public safety team is bid through
a public procurement process, including design-build delivery systems.

Federal Correctional Institution
Butner, NC
Our public safety specialists completed
civil engineering and site work development for a 105 acre campus plan
for a medium security, correctional institution. The facility includes living units
and support facilities for a rated capacity of 1,152 inmates, consisting
of several one and two story buildings, a Federal Prison Industries
(UNICOR) factory, three General Housing buildings of four levels each
and a two story maximum security Special Housing building within a
secure compound. Our services for this project included survey,
environmental services, utility design and water/wastewater design. |

Federal Correctional Institute
Prince George County, VA
Timmons Group was responsible for the
project management and design of the Federal Bureau of Prisons contracted
with Hensel & Phelps
Construction Company (contractor) and Moseley Architects (architect)
for a “design-build” operation. The new FCI will house
approximately 250 to 300 full-time employees at a site located in Prince
George County near the city of Petersburg, Virginia. Development of
the facility involved the utilization of approximately 150 acres of
land presently owned by the Bureau, located adjacent and to the north
of the existing Petersburg FCI. We closely coordinated with the
architect, other designers, contractors and subcontractors to create
an advanced civil package which provided the ability to begin clearing
and earthwork operations. |

Chesterfield County Public Safety Training
Complex
Chesterfield County, VA
The Public Safety team master planned 200 acres for Police, Fire
Department and Rescue Squad training center to include: enclosed pistol
firing range with baffled ceiling having 22 firing positions each with
two fixed distance firing positions, urban and highway driving tracks
with tower control, police and fire training maintenance buildings,
fire training mock-ups and fire training tower. We coordinated community
relations and information for re-zoning process. |

Virginia State Police Headquarters
Chesterfield County, VA
The project consisted of a single semi-detached
building, connected to the existing Virginia State Police Headquarters
building and containing approximately 85,000 square feet on three levels. |

Chesterfield Court Buildings
Chesterfield County, VA
Timmons Group designed a site plan for
a new courthouse facility on 47+/- acres of land in Chesterfield County. Services
for this project included topographic surveying, layout, grading, utility
design, storm sewer system design and design of new public roads.
